The Adrenaline Lab

Top 7 Finalists, Honourable Mention

Cyclist House Competition

The concept for The Adrenaline Lab was inspired by Fabio Wibmer, a renowned extreme biker and YouTuber known for his extraordinary skills and daring stunts. Despite the constraints imposed by the pandemic in recent years, the passion for biking remained dormant.

In response, this experimental lab is designed as a gathering place for biking enthusiasts, providing a safe environment for practicing and honing biking skills. The building features sweeping curves to create circulation loops, facilitating multiple performances and training sessions simultaneously. The design aims to revolutionize contemporary living by incorporating a hobby lifestyle, emphasizing the importance of activities like biking for both mental and physical well-being. The exterior steel frame takes inspiration from the design of the "Globe of Death", symbolizing the containment of explosive biking energy within this unique and spiritually resonant playground.

Platform XI-D

.

Reimagine Skyline @PAM Competition

Platform XI-D redefines the urban landscape by addressing concerns such as traffic congestion, challenges posed by tropical climates, and the need for efficient use of space. It seeks to improve the well-being of crowded city residents through a reimagined urban layout and building functionalities.

The design draws inspiration from connections among people, platforms, and buildings, envisioning a city grid that minimizes space wastage. The buildings are conceived as modular, adaptable structures to reduce construction costs, but the uniformity of such structures across the city could potentially lead to feelings of depression and health constraints. To mitigate this, courtyards, enclosed by blocks of buildings, are incorporated to alleviate stress, enhance ventilation, and introduce natural light into living spaces.

Various platforms serve diverse functions, providing transportation options and leisure spaces at different city levels. Ground-level streets are narrower, promoting convenience for essential services and commercial activities. The preservation of special areas, such as historical sites, religious spaces, and public parks, is emphasized to uphold a healthy city lifestyle and identity.

Bird Hive Sanctuary

.

AI x Biomimicry Architecture Competition

Human activities like deforestation driven by logging, mining, and agriculture have led to significant loss and fragmentation of bird habitats. This habitat destruction negatively impacts nesting and feeding grounds, making bird populations more vulnerable to predation and diseases. Ornithologists believe that if current anthropogenic trends persist, about one-third of all bird species and a greater proportion of bird populations could face extinction by the end of the 21st century.

In response to these challenges, the research explores inspiration from bees and beehives to develop innovative solutions for conserving and protecting bird habitats. The design incorporates features such as modular hexagon cells inspired by honey bee brood combs, insulated and eco-friendly materials, larger cells for different bird sizes, natural ventilation mechanisms, and a water-collecting roof. The habitat's outer layer is inspired by beehive layering to reduce travel-related disturbances for the birds.

Thermal Ring Spa

Top 50 Finalists, Top 6 Editorial Pick

Himalayan Thermal Bath Competition

The Ring Spa, situated between Gosaikunda Lake and Bhairav Kunda Lake, seeks to harmonize the body and spirit with nature. Inspired by traditional round houses in Hilekharka, it features overhanging roofs and curved interiors. Elevated on two concrete columns that sits on the intersection point of an axis to minimize environmental impact, the spa rotates slowly to optimize sunlight for solar panels and indoor plants. This innovative design not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions but also offers ever-changing views.

The spa interior uses local materials, incorporates curved corners for minimal visual impact, and includes a movable vertical garden that follows the sun. Human waste is treated and used as fertilizer, and condensation irrigates the garden. The void design promotes visual and mental relaxation, and a chimney-shaped void harnesses mountain valley air for a lively atmosphere.

Aqua Clique

Top 50 Finalists

Tiny House 2022 Architecture Competition

The ongoing increase in global average temperature effects on Earth's climate system result significant rise of global sea water level. The pacific Islands for instant had suffered from losing their homeland, food sources & their precious house specifically the aborigines on the Soloman Islands.

"Aqua Clique" is a shelter that can sustain the impact of global warming. The structure is floating on the sea to withstand the rising sea level, the valuable fresh water is collected from the roof & the manual extension canvas, which will be stored for human consumption. Solar panels covered most of the roof to provide essential electricity as well as reducing interior heat gain. There are also structures of man-made reefs that is designed to nourish new underwater ecosystem and create sustainable food sources. The house and cabinets are all modular to ease the transportation & lower the construction fees. The spatial design is inspired by "Kabang", houseboats that the Moken lives for generations.

All in all, "Aqua Clique" can benefits globally to sinking areas, crowded cities & vulnerable ecosystem.

Cour de Lecole

.

The Earth School Competition, Senegal.

In courtyard school, we design to enhance learning experience by bringing lights, textures and colors into spaces.

We also adapt tropical architecture design to provide a more comfortable learning environment, and focus on connecting human with nature by blending in the architecture to the surrounding site context.
